      The more hydrated you are, the more focused and alert you’ll feel. Start each day on a light note, with a glass of warm water with lemon. Continue to drink water and herbal teas throughout the day.

       Sleep is an essential need, as critical to looking good as it is feeling good. It’s important to get the recommended 7.5 to 8 hours sleep a night. Do not fear the nap. The more rested you are, the more productive, and alive, you feel.


       Pick one thing you want to kick—sugar, caffeine, nicotine—and start by reducing your consumption by 50%. The task of giving something up completely is daunting. But proving to yourself that you can cut back is empowering and could push you to go the full 100%.

    • UNPLUG

       We live in an always-on world, which can be depleting. Establish email and phone-free interludes so your mind can focus on other things without being interrupted or distracted. Start by unplugging for 10 minutes and work your way up to an hour or even longer. Also skip sleeping with your phone on your nightstand.


       It means different things to different people, but the benefits of meditating are immense. Try repeating a mantra, visualizing a calm place, or taking deep breaths. The idea is to quiet your mind, which sounds easy, but could be the biggest challenge that lies ahead of you.
