Bobbing around

While the word “bob” may conjure up images of preppy or precise severe styles, the types of bobs this season are as varied as the individual and can be tailored to everyone’s hair texture, face shape and unique sense of style. It’s worth considering going chin-length or thereabouts since a bob will accentuate your eyes, cheekbones, neck, and collarbones—all features that you definitely want in the spot light! Here are some of my guidelines for getting the most beautiful bob for you.

First, Work With Your Hair Texture:
•	Coarse Hair should always be layered and textured for a softer silhouette to avoid that dreaded helmet effect.
•	Fine Hair bobs best with minimal layers that aren’t razored with no weight or bulk removed from the ends
•	Curly Hair needs some weight and length with some slight layering and texturing to prevent hair from pyramiding out to the sides. A bob that brushes your collarbones will best suit your spirals.

Now Compliment the Shape of your Face:
•	Round faces work well with hair that falls just below the chin with some layering to add volume on top. Steer clear of blunt, one- length cuts and bangs.
•	Square faces soften up a bit with bobs that have long layers that start below the chin. Side-step blunt bangs and chin-length cuts that emphasize the jaw.
•	Heart Shaped faces look lovely with side-swept bangs or long eye-brow touching fringes with longer layers on top that touch at least the cheekbones.
